Why does prim have to die

At first Coin wanted to stop the hunger games but during the whole rebellion katniss sensed that coin was turning evil i think, and she knew that coin was now turning into the new snow. And even if katniss voted no we should stop the hunger games i think that katniss thought the games would still go on. Coin wanted the people to believe it was the capital who did it to turn the rest of the resisters against their own. The idea for a double bombing came from Gale. Snow to kill him and never could.

She voted in favor of the Capital HG because she new it was the best chance to get close enough to take out either President. You can tell in the movie when Haymitch and Katniss look at each other that there is more going on in her mind then a vote. Its why Haymitch said Im with the Mockingjay.

Just make sure to reply to recent posts next time, k, bc this one is from January and you just pinged a bunch of people who don't want to be pinged, including me.

Theres nothing wrong with someone wanting to get there opinion or answer out on a subject, even if that subject was on a post a long time ago. I doubt anyone cares if you comment on a post from a couple weeks ago, and if this was the case I'd agree with you. But it was more than half a year ago that this post was made. If someone really wants to talk about a subject, the smarter thing to do is make a new post themselves, instead of going back 7 months in the past trying to find an old one.

I think killing Prim was a key part in the story because Katniss would've used her arrow on Snow, because there wasn't a reason not to. Panem would be governed by Coin, and I can't see that being good.

I also think the same thing of Finnick's death. Those two main character's deaths drove Katniss to see the light. Andrea Feb 02, AM -1 votes. No it wasn't necessary, it just added to Katniss's pain and torture. Stephanie M I agree, I don't think Prim should have died but the author of Divergent, Veronica Roth, wrote at the end of her book that she thinks its good to kill I agree, I don't think Prim should have died but the author of Divergent, Veronica Roth, wrote at the end of her book that she thinks its good to kill off people that you are attached to.

If she would have just killed off people that didn't mean anything then the books would be happy but they wouldn't be realistic. Veronica Roth said that she likes to make her book as realistic as possible, and I agree with her. I think killing off people that you are attached to is a good but, sad, thing.

It does make us want to keep reading though! Stephanie Feb 18, PM -1 votes. I don't think Prim should have died but the author of Divergent, Veronica Roth, wrote at the end of her book that she thinks its good to kill off people that you are attached to.

Matthew While I agree in the context of Mockingjay, I disagree about Veronica Roth, as I felt very few, if any, of the deaths contributed much to the story, o While I agree in the context of Mockingjay, I disagree about Veronica Roth, as I felt very few, if any, of the deaths contributed much to the story, other than shock value. While the "Big Death" at the finale wasn't done for shock value, and had been planned from the beginning, the ridiculous context makes it and the events immediately prior to the death rather unnecessary.

She wrote the book s to humiliate the government, you know. Add a reference: Book Author. Search for a book to add a reference. We take abuse seriously in our discussion boards. Beetee Jeffrey Wright also assisted in those plans, making him just as responsible for Prim's death as Gale. Still, both men weren't the ones to directly order the bombings since that command went to President Coin Julianne Moore.

She had the authority to order the bombings and use them on innocent Capitol citizens. Coin was also the one who allowed a young Prim to work as a field nurse and sent the rebellion medics to the site of the first explosion. If any should take the brunt of the blame for Prim's death, it should be Coin.

While Gale's treatment in the form of the blame for Prim's death was unfair, it didn't really matter in the end. His idea turned out to have a domino effect that resulted in the young girl's death.

It may have been a direct involvement, but Katniss couldn't see past the connections. The friendship between Katniss and Gale deteriorated because of the rift Prim's death caused. The death of Prim at the hands of the rebellion surely haunted both Katniss and Gale for the rest of their lives.
